The third and final international meeting of the Erasmus+ project “Inclusion Vocabulary – Creating a new Inclusion Vocabulary to foster acceptance of sexual orientation among teachers and students in high schools” (project number 2020-1-PTO1-KA201-078604) took place on 9 December 2022.
The project “Inclusion Vocabulary” involved eight partners from all over Europe: AECP (Portugal); CEIPES (Italy); ESCUELA 2 COOPERATIVA VALENCIANA (Spain); FAMYLIAS (Spain); IDEC (Greece); Liceo Scientifico Statale S. Cannizzaro (Italy); PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL OF ECOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” (Bulgaria) and TEHNICKA SKOLA “Drvo art” (Serbia). The latter hosted the project partners in Belgrade during this important day.
The aim of the project is to create a positive and inclusive environment in schools in all partner countries (Portugal, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece). In the project’s open-source website, students, teachers and parents can find numerous materials on LGBTQIA+ issues. Such as the handbook containing inclusive vocabulary, training courses covering various topics and videos made by students with the aim of raising awareness on the topic.
Although progress has been made towards inclusion in Europe, there are still problems in schools regarding certain sensitive topics, which is why awareness-raising and information in schools are still very important.
During the meeting, the partners reviewed all the activities carried out so far, starting with the development of the handbook, courses and videos, continuing with the multiplier events and continuing with the dissemination activities. Particular attention was given to some managerial and financial aspects, in order to allow the proper drafting of the project’s final report.
